Application Status

I am an Applicant and I Need to Check on the Status of My Application

The PTBC will only release application information to the applicant, agency or person that the applicant has designated to be represented by. If you have elected to be represented by a recruiting and/or placement service during the application process, submit in writing to the PTBC your authorization for all correspondence to be forwarded to the representing agency. Please be advised that all correspondence from the PTBC will be directed to the representing agency (i.e. written or verbal inquiries pertinent to the status of your application).

APPLICATION PROCESSING TIME FRAME – The PTBC will acknowledge receipt of your application within 30 days of receipt. Due to the large volume of applications, please do not contact the PTBC during this period as staff is unable to check on the status of your application.

EXAMINATION SCORE REPORTS – Within 1-2 days after taking an exam you must visit FSBPT's web site to view your exam results. The Board will ONLY send you an exam report if you fail an exam. If you would like a detailed exam results report it can be purchased from FSBPT at www.fsbpt.org/. If you have passed both exams and you do not receive a missing documents letter then the licensure process will be initiated. The PTBC will issue a license within 3-4 weeks after your application is deemed complete. To find out if you have been licensed you can visit the PTBC web site, go to Verify a License and enter your name. If your name is not displayed on the license verification site, then a license has not been issued and you must allow sufficient processing time for the PTBC to issue a license.

SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A PERIOD OF CLINICAL SERVICE – A foreign educated physical therapist applicant who graduated from a non-accredited PT program and passed both the NPTE and CLE must complete a period of clinical service within one year of passing the NPTE.

LICENSE ISSUANCE – Once an application has been deemed complete and a determination has been made for licensure the application will be issued a license within 3-4 weeks. A fully complete application consists of all required documents, score reports from the FSBPT documenting a passing score on all required examination(s), fingerprint card clearances from DOJ and FBI, period of clinical service (if applicable), and required fees.
